Far from city lights, high in the heart of Central Otago’s Māniatoto, the night sky comes alive.

Here, the Milky Way stretches from horizon to horizon. Southern constellations reveal themselves in extraordinary detail. On a clear night, you can see thousands of stars, planets, star clusters and deep-sky wonders that simply disappear beneath the glow of the city.

And sometimes, if the conditions are right, the Aurora Australis makes an appearance.
